An ever-growing number of companies are feeling the effects of the Coronovirus, with many global organisations fearing it could get worse. Despite there being more visibility in supply chains than ever before, it is imperative that companies monitor how destructive the coronavirus could be to their operations.

It is thought that some manufacturing supply chains could face “months” of disruption, as factories in China struggle to reopen in the aftermath of the coronavirus outbreak. The prospect of being forced to halt production lines and time sensitive engineering projects is a challenge to all of us in electronics manufacturing.

The Detech purchasing team have been working hard over these past couple of months to understand, analyse and mitigate the threat of suppliers who source or manufacture in areas currently compromised by the virus.

Detech can confirm that they have an extensive stock of critical parts to keep our customers machines operational for extended periods of time. We also offer a full remote support system as part of our service packages that do normally resolve over 95% of problems without any need for a call out.

If a call out is required then we will judge the best method on a case by case basis and will continue to update our strategy in line with W.H.O. and Government advice. We will work in the best possible way to keep our customers operational while staying within travel guidelines etc.

We believe that by working together with our customers we will be able to come through the COVID-19 outbreak while keeping production levels to a maximum.

As always we are here to answer any questions that you may have, feel free to call our offices on +44 (0) 1262 409944.
